When we look back on our lives, it won’t be the list of achievements that stay with us. It won’t be the time we stood on the podium, received a promotion, bought a new house, or won that big race. These moments, though significant, are about us, and we don’t remember things about ourselves the same way we remember the moments of love, joy, and connection we share with others. What we truly hold on to are the moments that fill our hearts.
Like the childhood memory of riding the school bus to see the girl we shared our first kiss with, or walking through the woods after a rainstorm when the sunlight turned the dew into thousands of tiny, shimmering worlds. It will be the time we strolled hand-in-hand with a dear friend through a snow-dusted city, Christmas lights glowing all around us. We will remember the drive down that winding road to our grandparents’ house for a special birthday, or the hours spent laughing with old friends, reliving stories from the past. And we’ll cherish the quiet moments of compassion we shared with a heartbroken friend, standing by them through life’s struggles.
It’s these moments—the love, the kindness, the compassion—that make life truly beautiful. And when we reflect, it’s these memories we will treasure because it’s these pure moments that shape our path in life.
As the holidays approach, let’s take time to cherish each other and make more meaningful moments. Set aside the distractions, hit the mute button and pause to absorb all that life has to offer. This is a beautiful life we share, and it’s these moments that shape it.
Happy Holidays and much love to you all,
Kevan
